Australian piggeries investigated for PMWS.

Though Australia remains one of the few countries unaffected by postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), most probably thanks to an absence of pork imports from other countries, two Australian piggeries were investigated for this disease in July 2005. It was confirmed that the piggery in NSW was not affected. This could not be proven in the South Australian piggery, in which investigations were still underway.
