Reassortment, shift: swine influenza viruses change and doing so give rise to particular concern regarding the efficacy of vaccines and the reliability of diagnostic tests. Yet, these continuous and unpredictable variations do not result in considerable waves of outbreaks and vaccines still manage to keep the situation under control.
